To encourage and promote the growth of the 420 class at HYC, we are working with the 420 class association and other clubs in the Leinister region. The aim of the training is to allow sailors to keep enjoying their sailing outside of the summer months, while working on improving their boat handling skills and racing technique.
The training is open to all 420 sailors and there are a few boats that are made available for sailors that would like to try the class The 420 class captain Des Flood in conjunction with Brian McDowell of MYC have laid out a training schedule:-
Venue: Howth Yacht Club
Dinghy parking is free for the duration of the training.
Racing is available to members of the training group Saturday Afternoons 8th September - 6th October
1 Charter boat is available for the duration of the training
Training: Sunday Afternoons 2.00pm - 6.00pm.
Lead coach Graeme Grant will be joined by experienced 420 coaches and sailors delivering a program that will suit the range of experience expected.
