Open Training at Mid-Term (Additional Information)

The Association is delighted to confirm that Open Training will take place in the Royal Cork Yacht Club from Thursday 29th October to Saturday 31st October.  Sailors will have the opportunity to leave their boats in Cork for a further week and participate in RCYC coaching on Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th November.

The Coaching will be led by the ISA National Coach Ross Killian and will start at 1100 on the Thursday and 1000 on Friday and Saturday.  We intend that sailing will be completed and boats packed for 1600 on Saturday to facilitate an early departure.

Michael McCann, Class Captain at RCYC, will be co-ordinating the three days locally with the assistance of Mark Whitaker and other local parents.

Team Selection - 2016

The Irish 420 Class Association is pleased to announce the selection criteria for teams to attend the Open & Ladies World Championships 2016 taking place in Imperia, Italy and the Junior Europeans 2016 taking place at Lake Balaton, Hungary.

The main focus of the Association will be to organise and provide team support for the Worlds Event in Italy. Further information will be made available in due course regarding outline costs, accommodation, boat transport options etc.

The Association will also provide assistance in terms of arrangements, logistical support, boat transport options etc. for teams who are planning to attend any of the overseas pre-qualifying events.

Please note that the Irish 420 Association will not be organising the trip to the Junior Europeans in Hungary.  This responsibility will primarily be for the parents of sailors who have qualified and who are planning to attend.

Travel to Maubuisson October Mid-Term

A number of boats have expressed interest in travelling to the Grand Prix de l'Armistice, Maubuisson, France during the October mid-term.

There is a possibility of a trailer and boats travelling, and the class is looking into the possibility of some sailors travelling with the boats (i.e. by minibus) or of sailors flying and boats travelling by road. Any sailors interested in taking part, please contact the Association by Wednesday 7th October at president [at] sail420 [dot] com.
