Ulster 420 Championship, 10th and 11th May Country Antrim Yacht Club

County Antrim Yacht Club

County Antrim Yacht Club Welcome the 420's for the first time this May. CAYC is located in Whitehead about 15 miles North of Belfast, so is very easy to get to. The sailing waters are straight out from the Club, so no long sail out. The entry fee for this event is 60STG. NOR out shortly.

Entries now Open for Youth Nationals Howth Y.C.

Entries are now being accepted by HYC for the Youth Nationals. The event is also the second leg of the Selector Series for International Events. There is a 20 euro discount for entries received by the 11th April.

Open Training 22/23 March RCYC

The next 420 open training will be held on 22/23 March at RCYC. Mark Whitaker is organising the event. The training will be run by ISA 420 Coach Ross Killian supported by Cian O'Regan and Rob Lehane. The cost of the training will be 100 euro per boat for the weekend. All are welcome!

The Cork sailors are kindly offering to host sailors from the rest of the country. Please contact Mark Whitaker (mark [dot] whitaker [at] jpmg [dot] ie) to confirm you will be training and if you want accommodation.

Selector Series for International Events 2014

The Selection Series rules has just been  published for qualification for international event this year. The Irish Association are planning to send teams to both the World Championships in Germany and the Junior Europeans in Poland.

Schull & Munsters 2014 Update

The weather forecast for next week is good with light to moderate winds and warmer temperatures.

Saturday 15th, 1630 check in to accommodation.

Sunday 16th, 0930 register for training. Please bring the balance of money due for the training and accommodation if you have not paid in full. Cheque or cash. Also, all sailors must be members of the Irish 420 Class Association. The cost is 10 euro per sailor (the cheapest of any class!)

Sunday 16th, 1000 training begins.

Thursday 20th, 0930 Registration for Munster Championships.

Schull Training Camp and Munster Championship 2014 - Entries now Open!

Saturday 15th to Friday 21st February 
 
The 420 Schull Training Camp is taking place on the February mid term break from Saturday 15th to Wednesday 19th February. This is followed by the Munster Championship on Thursday 20th and Friday 21st. There will be  training for all levels, for those new to the class as well as those at the top. 
 
After consulting with the class members, nearly everyone preferred the option where sailors stay together in holiday cottages under the supervision of coaches and some parents. The sailors and coaches will cook for themselves. There will be a range of activities organised for the evening time in the houses. An outline of the camp:
